How to put any iPhone/iPad into DFU Mode

Hey guys in this guide i will show you how to put your device in DFU mode, but first you need to know the difference between DFU mode and recovery mode.

  • In DFU Mode, your device's screen will be all blank.
  • In Recovery Mode, Your device will have an image of a Wire and a laptop screen (iTunes logo for older versions) on your screen.

The method is different for different devices, so check from the three methods and see from the title that which one is for your device.

iPad, iPhone 6s and below, iPhone SE and iPod touch

  • Connect your iPhone to a power source (charger, laptop, power bank).
  • Hold down both the Home button and Lock button.
  • After 8 seconds, release the Lock button while continuing to hold down the Home button.
  • If the Apple logo appears, the Lock button was held down for too long.
  • Nothing will be displayed on the screen when the device is in DFU mode. If open, iTunes will alert you that a device was detected in recovery mode.
  • If your device shows a screen telling you to connect the device to iTunes, retry these steps.
